If you're new, hi, I’m Carla! I'm a queer, Afro-Latina performer, educator and choreographer currently based in New York City. I'm extremely passionate about the arts and education, and most importantly, I believe that people should have access to both regardless of their background. In addition to my on-stage career, my off-stage work over the past few years has led me to a leadership roles that I’m profoundly proud of, as I’ve been able to focus on creating equitable and inclusive environments within the performing arts — which is no easy task... but it's the social change for me!
So how did I get here? Technically, on an airplane from Puerto Rico to Southwest Florida and then eventually to Boston. I grew up in dance studios, taking private voice lessons, and performing in school musicals, but I have to acknowledge that those opportunities were solely because of the generosity of others. Every scholarship and grant that has allowed me to get to where I am, has only fueled my commitment to give back to my community and carve a path for other people of color to do the same.

When I'm not onstage (or channeling my inner AOC) my favorite place to be is anywhere with my sweet pup, Remy. I also love traveling, watching horrible reality television, looking at houses I can't afford on Zillow, and exploring New York City with my friends. I also enjoy taking aerial hoop classes and scouting out really good iced coffee from local shops.
